Hey everyone. I wanna know do you guys be night fishing on the inlet rivers and creeks like we night fish upstate on the lakes. As you can see, my boat is decked out with green lights.
1.What kinds of fish do you think they would attract?
2.Should I fish deep water or shallow?
3.What would be the best baits?
4.What river or creek would be the best area for night fishing?

You could always add a flounder gigging light and hit the shallows
Actually I have them to. One is already on top of my console. The other two I have to install on. Was actually going to try and do it tomorrow before I came down there Saturday morning to fish the weekend…
I’m interested in seeing a close-up of the lights by the rub-rail in the daylight. Looks…interesting.

Ditto that. Look for docks with a lot of lights. That’s where the fish are. Fish have been coming to them for years. Excellent night fishing around many lighted docks. I ain’t sure about those green boat lights. Looks cool though. It’s not natural for them to see something that looks like strip club They are creatures of habit.

Interesting. Thanks! They didn’t seem to look as “intruding” as I assumed they would.
Good luck, and tight lines!

Up the cooper river a mile or so there are some great docks on your port side!!! For real though, Just approach dock light downstream…cast dat shrimp and let it drift back under light…the big ones bight first then go to the next one without too much um…“intruding”
Larry do you think it is any different than the green bait attractor lights you lower into the water? Or possibly you don’t believe in those either and that is OK also.
And I do agree about the strip club.
gonefishing: Maybe you should add a polished brass pole to your casting platform and hang around the Shem Creek bars. Bet you catch something then. and I’ll leave the next joke for somebody else
Like Larry said “they are creatures of habit”. Or is that not what you where talking about Larry.

I have never used or fished around green lights, ever, so I don’t know. White lights work, I do know that. Not sure that brass poles and disco balls would do any good either:smiley:
Fish are creatures of habit and they get used to feeding at certain places at certain times. They know that a particular dock has a good light and usually attracts bait, and they come every night.
The only time I’ve put a floating light in the water was once anchored on a reef in the Dry Tortugas. We were on a big sailboat and it was packed with more food than we could possibly eat, so we decided it would be fun to put a light in the water and do some chumming and see what came up. Water was very clear, could see bottom in 100’. It immediately started drawing small minnows, so we started chumming with crackers and bread. Pretty soon there were bigger fish coming in eating the minnows, so we kicked up the chum to some shrimp and fish in the freezer. Wow! We drew a crowd quick! Switched to hot dogs, things just kept getting better. Had something going on now! Ran out of dogs and chopped up some roast beef that was getting old. Started seeing big shadows down there, and a whole lot of surface feeding going on. Ran out of roast beef and Mrs. Cracker pulled out a full rack of ribs, cut it in half and threw it out there. At that point it was nothing but pure carnage. Sharks, cudas, don’t know what all, everything was eating everything, working down the food chain. Then a huge hammerhead came up and bit our dinghy. Glad it wasn’t rubber or it would have been dead too [:0] OK, I’ve seen enough, turn out the light quick and quit chunking

Lmao… You guys are to funny. Yes jokes for days. I can come with them to. Well far as a bras pole and Shem creek, as much Fish that swarm around Shem Creek at night for the night life I’m sure the hook can bring them out along with the green lights. Hell, I’m pretty a lot of them after hour Shem Creek fish are up to a lil green light action…
