Suggestion please. I had to sell my boat a few years ago and unfortunately haven’t fished much since. I’m out of the know. I’m wanting to take my girlfriend on a charter at end of April.
Can’t do a full day so asking which would be better, inshore or near shore?
Looking at a 4 - 6 hour trip.
She doesn’t fish much at all but she has been the one asking to go. I think she would have a better time catching several vs one or two larger ones.
Thoughts?
You can do a 4 hour for either inshore or nearshore, at least for the closer reefs. Some days are better than others, but when with a guide I’ve caught plenty of fish at both. If you’re not specifically looking to fill a cooler or catch something specific, I would suggest inshore as you’ll have a lot more options overall.
Book a nearshore reef trip with Robert Olsen.
After being released, a lot of fish die, but a lot of them live also.
I should add - I usually try to book for nearshore reef trips but that always lets us fall back to inshore if the weather isn’t cooperating. We have been going out with Kevin Blair a lot lately, but have also had good trips with Chuck Griffen (nearshore) and Geoff Bennett (flats boat, inshore only).
