Inshore Rods

Broke two tips yesterday at the Ross. Berkely and a Ugly stick. Not the best out there I know but askin for opinions on good replacements. $100 a piece rods is my goal or less. Noted that Cabela’s has Carrot stick on sale for $89 but a friend has one and said the hook set at base is to big and gets in the way!?

Shimano quality for the price and warranty would be my suggestion. The Claris is under $100 and the Terramar is maybe just over at Haddrell’s. Feel em out

broke a cheapo sunday on a stingaree, so i’m trying to save up again too.

all star inshore redfish special (spinning) for sensitivity and durability

shimano clarus by word of mouth for performance and warranty

I’ve got a Shimano Clarus as well and have had one for the past 5 years. They’re great rods and I love it. That being said, from now one, if I buy a spinning rod, it’ll be a Star Rods Stellar Lite. I’ve put the Stellar Lite through some wicked abuse her in the Keys with 8 ft sharks, 100 lb tarpon, football blackfin tuna, grouper, super-schooly dolphin and many other fish and it’s performed beautifully.

Went with the Star Stellar and even broke down and got me a Battle. Spooled it with 20lb Braid. Think i’m gonna love this setup. It’s gonna be tough to beat my Substain and Clarus combo though. Thanks to all for the input. Let’s go catchin!
