is anyone recording and building their own maps?

figured I would see if anyone else is…
right now ive been working on murrells inlet and will proably start working Georgetown a bit as well.
Haven’t yet but might soon.
My unit has the capability.
I’m wondering though is you download a community map of say lake hartwell, do you get the sat imagery basemap as shown on your computer?
My unit isn’t installed yet but It comes with a “free” one year period.
Just wondering if this might allow me to hava at least an aerial image basemap for home lake without having to buy anything else?
Have you downloaded any lakes or areas from the gofree site?
