installing a water fuel seperator ???

I am installing one, 2 questions
its tilted on a 20 degree angle, is this going to hurt anything?
do i need to fill it up with fuel before i install, or can i just use the primer bulb to pump fuel in it?
thanks

Not sure about the angle, can’t see why it would matter, but I am not a mechanic. But from experience I would definitely fill with fuel before installing. It will save your forearms a lot of pain, unless you need a workout! I was also told to put the primer bulb after the seperator because it is easier to pull the fuel through, rather than push.

The best way to a fisherman’s heart is through his fly.

Most of them state to fill with fuel before installing.

Might be sorta messy to change filters …

for the filter to function properly, it should be vertical

I had to be real creative to get my vertical. I used long bolts with pvc couplings to offset it from the boat.

I don’t think 20 degrees will harm anything, only decrease the capacity of water it can hold, If your getting that much water you should change the place you are getting gas. To make things a little more simple when you change your separator, put 2-4-C on the o-ring (gasket) oil will suit if you do not have 2-4-C.

did everything but worried about the angle, everything worked out well with how it is installed now, so i hate to change it
