Interesting day

I went out this morning in the cold with a friend to fish a couple of hours. We caught seven trout and two nice slot reds. Here is what made the day interesting. I hooked a 17-18" trout about sixty feet behind my boat. He quickly came to the surface and there was a BIG push of water coming up to him. I’m thinking shark. Turned out to be a 35" range redfish and he is trying to eat my trout. This was not some dink trout. The Red hit the trout on his lower half 4-5 time but not doing a lot of damage. I had the trout right next to the boat and the red continued trying to eat the trout. Very cool sight to see a red so aggressive not caring at all that he was close enough to net him. Another cool thing today, one of the reds had a tag in him. Two very cool things made it worth going out in the cold.

Great story . Can’t say I have ever heard or seen anything similar. I guess I may need to start using some large blue water baits inshore for some really big reds. Thanks for the post. :sunglasses:

Nobody was on the water today but I saw a 26 World Cat go by me on the Stono. That you?
