Idiocracy is so scary if you think about it, because you know its happening right now as we speak. And I cant believe somebody’s never seen Joe Dirt. That is my favorite movie.

I was at the SCDMV weds and a kid was being way out of control. Employee of dmv got on to her and her mother 2 times and the mother did nothing. That to me is the reason these people think its ok to blast a radio at a gas pump. People need to teach em young like i have done my son and i was taught as well. I never intentionally do things to get on someones nerve but i am human and i’m sure some things i do get on others nerves.

That’s the difference right there. You consider that you might be bothering someone, you try to avoid it, and would probably quit if someone mentioned it.
Too many just don’t care, or even go out of their way to be a nuisance.

I appreciate your perspective Bart. And I believe I’ve seen it before.
I ran a grocery store in N. charleston. We’d catch shoplifters, often black, sometimes white, never Hispanic. We had a wonderful black lady that worked in our meat department who we couldn’t let near a black shoplifter. “YOU are the reason they watch ME!” She would say and it pizzed her off BAD! And Lord help a kid we’d catch whose Grandma would come get them!
I did retail all over Charleston area. The 98% in N. Chas who were good people were the best customers I ever served. I enjoyed them and they appreciated the store being there. The 2% were idiots who were idiots ruined it for them and the store is closed. Now that 98% has nothing. Sad.
Bart, as a black man, how can you and others influence the blacks that get you profiled? I honestly thing blacks are the only ones that can eliminate racism and profiling, unless I’m twisted in my thinking that it needs change.

Bart’s a good guy. You’re mistaken BillD
'Preciate the kind words fellas, although that wasn’t the intent behind my response. I just wanted to point out that making stereotypical comments deflects attention from the actual issue(s) at hand.
Vin, the problem is at home. 70% of black children are born out of wedlock. The mother is the primary (and often only) source of discipline and instruction. That’s why many young black males care so much about clothing, jewelry and all the other stuff commonly overlooked by men. Without fathers at home, they draw from, and place their importance in, things considered important by their mothers. This issue is exacerbated by the rap videos and hip-hop culture that glorifies all that’s bad.
Several decades ago when racism was a legitimate issue, the black family was much stronger. Standards and expectations were much higher, as that’s what it took for blacks to truly be considered as equals. Nowadays, the government has taken the place of the black father and actually facilitates illegitimacy.
I’m not sure how to get the message across, as the NAACP and other “black” organizations focus only on issues when racism may exist. If Jesse Jackson, Sharpton and the other poverty pimps truly cared about their own people, they’d be saying what I’m saying. You’re conclusion is spot-on, Vin: the answer to this problem can only be solved by black people. Black fathers must be present and perform their duties as the head of the household, and black folks as a whole must return to being self-reliant rather than depending on hand-outs and “assistance” from big brother.
“I’m not a hundred percent in love with your tone right now…”
That’s definitely a refreshing and honest perspective Bart. I imagine there have been plenty of potential Jacksons and Sharptons who tried to fight the true fight and were run out of town. Free is more popular than right, and far more addictive.
I look forward to sharing a boat.

What bothers me about the loud music is when you’re 3 or 4 cars in front of or behind me and my windows and outside mirrors vibrate. Had a cop tell me once that the music inside the car wasn’t as loud as outside. Well turn the stupid speakers around. Then there is the one with small kid in the car.

I’ve seen it before but picked up on a few missed things this time around. You know the sad thing, is it is not as far fetched as one might think. The no kid left behind crap dumbing down the rest of the students. Wonder if they’ll ever get the fact that people are different, some smarter, others stronger, and not many don’t need pushing to reach their full potential. What would have made the movie better would have been to have the mob eating ice cream.
Joe Dirt, now that movie is a classic. I missed the spatula thing with the dog on the edited version plus a few more things.
I used to have a Dennis The Menace cartoon where he was walking with one of the girls and said “Mr. Wilson said GOD created us as equals at birth, but after that we were on our own”!
Amen!!!
BTW, BB and I have hugged and made up! I would like to meet him the next time I get over there before I end up at St. Lawrence Cem!!!
