IOP Creeks

Am coming down to IOP next week and am bringing my Kayak for the first time.
I will be staying at the end of Wild Dunes. It a short paddle to Dewees and then to whatever creek that is running south.

Was hoping for any info on how the fishing is up around there. We have always surf fished and have done ok, but was looking for some info on if those creeks I see on Google hold any fish

They all hold fish, it’s just up to you to find them. If you put in at IOP marina, and head NW up the ICW, there are a ton of creeks there. Just head out for the incoming or outgoing tide and set up at the creek openings. This site has a Tide table on the home page. Good Luck.

Thanks, Did manage to paddle up through the surf and over through Dewees inlet, Caught some reds way up in a few small creeks. One nice 24 inch and several other rats.

Lots of sharks in the surf, one decent Dusky and good Black tip. As many Sharpnose as you want.
Surf turned too rough for safe kayak fishing early in the week.
