IOP pier

Does anyone have any tips for fishing the IOP Pier? I am vacationing there with my family and would love to catch some fish with my 8 year old son. We live in SC and have some experience in coastal fishing but we were wondering what works this time of year at the IOP Pier.

Carolina rig fresh shrimp, uncooked walmart shrimp will work, is your easiest bet to catch fish off of the pier.

Thanks for the advice Hondomac. Does it matter where you fish off the pier? End, or middle better. Or just stick to where the waves break?
