Guys,
I’m coming down to IOP last week in June and would like to get some yak fishing in. New ride 135 ready to go.
I’ll be staying at Beachside.
Just read the thread about the guy putting in at Breach. Doesn’t sound like that’s the place to be.
What are some good places to put in for some fishing? Any time of day is OK by me. I was actually thinking about some night time dock light fishing, some flats red fishing, and I also like the ■■■■ early, only someone that really wanted some quiet time would be out this early kind of fishing.
I do know the area some, having spent about 5 summer vacations on IOP over the years.
Feel free to e-mail me if you do not want to post. I can keep it quiet.
Heck, by the time I get down there June 28 all the fish will be caught anyway.

If you are already on IOP, the Marina by Wild dunes is a great place to launch. You can fish the Intracoastal, Morgan creek, and the back bays from that put in.
Sullivans Island has a put in just off the intracoastal at station 26. This puts you out close to the ben sawyer bridge and Hamlin creek.
If you get off the island, Shem Creek, the Pitt street bridge, Gadsenville landing, and Paradise island landing on the wando can all be good spots to put the yak in and fish.
Hope some of this helps.

Go Buckeyes!!! No, Seriously, GO!!!
DD,
That landing at Sta. 26 was a great place in the 1950’s. The spottails would be loaded up like cordwood waiting to come back in there after low tide. Just mention that anyone putting in there needs to be concerned that they can’t get in and out at dead low tide. And its had to find nowdays.
Eat mor trout.
Everyone,
Thanks for your responses.
I’ll be putting in walking from Beachside more than a couple of times.
Looks like Hamlin Creek into the marsh area should be good.
Any pointers on fishing late June to early July?
Waters will be heating up from here on.
BTW, noaa charts downloadable.
I’ll have a couple of laminated pages with me so when I get lost, I’ll know where I am

Guys (and Gals),
Thanks.
I have a question.
If I wanted to fish Hamlin Creek around the dock lights at night, where would be the best place to put in if I’m staying at Beachside?
I would like to walk the yak to the put in, if possible.
Is it all private or is there a place to put in under the bridge?
Just got a box from kayakfishing.com for rigging. Guess I know what I’ll be doing this weekend.
Thanks
