Here for the week, so decided to fight the elements and give it a try in the morning despite the wind and cold. Got a bunch of family down too, but couldn’t convince anyone to come out, so I went out solo with some low expectations. I was on track to meet my expectations until I found some clean water and the fish were hungry. They bit constantly for the last few hrs. of the rising tide.
Mostly small fish right around 14" with some others a bit smaller and a few larger. Biggest was 17.5". Stopped right around the tide change and headed back to the house. Had a late lunch and then headed back out with my son and grandson a couple hours later and wasn’t sure what to expect. Got my grandson set up and I casted out his rod to show him how to fish a trout trick and immediately hooked up on the first cast. Then gave him his rod and all 3 of us caught fish after fish for a little over an hour. Still mostly smaller fish, but we had a blast catching them on light tackle.
A few were caught on TT’s, but the vast majority were on 4" white paddle tail grubs fished real slow.
