This will be my first time fishing the area. What are some tips for fishing Isle of Palms? I am staying at the Wild Dunes Resort. I have gotten better at surf fishing, so that is def. an option for me. I also know August is not really the best time to fish, but I’ll still fish. I also know there is a pier in Mt. Pleasant. What types of bait would work for these places? Thanks in advance!
Hey Bob, Check out the Surf and Pier thread on the site. There’s a lot of good info over there on fishing the IOP. Check out some of DParker’s posts. The North end of the IOP can be pretty good.

Since you’re at Wild Dunes, one of my favorite place is the big creek at the north end of the island (Morgan or Cedar creek?). I’ve caught Reds/Trout/Flounder there. There are a few ponds for catching mullet.
It is walkable from WD. Try it at low tide +/-2 hours. Otherwise it gets pretty rough.
