IOP

so tried a mid to high tide giggin excursion last night. Put out of the IOP marina for the first time. The wind went from 7 to 15 mph while we were out there. Decided to look at some new bottom anyway. with rough water and murky clarity we saw nothing not too suprisingly.
Well I have been watching too much shark week and I know they are in that area so I brought along a wahoo carcass and scraps along with some once frozen mullet from a past trip. started chumming the water with the blood saturated ice water. made a chum bag and tossed the carcass in some rocks in the shallows.
It was late and the meteors were really goin so we were just aimlessly talkin and watching the sky no hits no indication of any life. Out of NOWHERE the back rod starts screaming!! ZZZZZZZZZ
My buddy had that rod but knows my old obsession for wanting to catch a big shark so he charitably passed the rod to me. I went to the back to fight and i told him to pull anchor cause he had almost 400 yards out and I didnt have much more. we begin to chase the fish and I gain a little line back. When it gets close to the boat it makes another huge run. fight it back up and it is the biggest stingray I have ever seen! will post a pic in a few!

Hahaha that sucks
