Iphone Apps for fishing?

I recently upgraded to an Iphone for the first time and I am continually amazed by all the capabilities! I’m wondering is there are any particular apps or tricks with this handy technology that yall have found useful for fishing. I use it to view my location on NOAA charts while I’m out on the boat because I dont have a GPS on board, and I also use it to “drop pins” on potential fishing spots I’ve found. Anyone have any other help tricks or recommended apps that could help on a fishing trip?

Fish rules is a good app for keeping up with your fish regulations . It will change from state to star also based on your gps location .

Also I like knot wars , good app for learning to tie new knots .

I’d rather fish than eat.

A gun in the hand is better than a cop on the phone.

what app are you using to see position on NOAA charts? that sounds handy as a back up GPS.

I use MyRadar for up the minute color weather radar. Big fan of weatherbug as well which has a realtime windmeter up at the charleston air force base- can see direction and speed really quickly.

You can even swap between chart view and google earth view. I use it on a Droid and the app only cost $9.99. It does the exact same thing as the Navionics chip in my Humminbird, and then some. Good stuff!

I use an app called iSailGPS. I just got back from sailing down the ICW from Charleston to Savannah and this app was a life saver! It shows your position on the NOAA charts and tracks you’re exact location and stores it so you can see exactly where you’ve been. We didnt have a depth finder or GPS on board so this app served as both and it was unbelievably helpful. Worth every bit of $7.99!
