Have the stripers shut down completely or has everyone just given up?
I went last Saturday night. Fished from seven until midnight. I had two runs and my partner lost one as well. Fished around Spence then the towers. Next time I am trying up lake further. maybe back in the branch by Dreher Island. This is my first year of fishing Murray. All but one trip was around the dam mid summer. I fished around Dreher in April in like 60’ of water. I may try that this weekend because I am not having any luck out in the big water. I’ll let you know how that goes. Any advice on catching them this time of year is appreciated.
I’m trying to get a handle on Striper fishing Murray myself. I’ve fished for them occasionally for several years with only limited success. But, if I find them I will be glad to pass on the info.
Fish Ballentine Cove. That’s where they were last weekend. Troll with swimbaits on downriggers instead of live baits. A buddy of mine who lives at Night Harbor fishes the lake all of the time and he catches more fish than anyone I know. A Catholic Church in Chapin had an in-house striper tourney last weekend and my buddy donated his catch to the church for their fellowship supper and his catch would have won the tourney. He also rigs two swimbaits on each line and only uses two rods. The baits are spaced about three feet apart.

Kloudking, thanks for the advice. Does anyone ever use dipsy divers around here. I used them on Lake Erie for Walleye but have never seen them here. kind of a poor mans downrigger.
I have not fished in a couple of weeks, up until then I was catching them on leadcore with roadrunners and or jigs down in the main channel around the dam.
Getting ready for a little deer season right now and then duck season will be here and then the stripers will fire back up on freelines:smiley:

Anyone know where to buy Big Jake lures?
CarolinaCrazyMan.
Never heard of them. Went last night with no luck. found some fish back in a cove. they seemed to be stacked up along a dropoff that went from 40’ to 60’ rather fast. fish were stacked between 10 and 35 feet. But I could not get them to hit. I always have trouble with stipers durring cold fronts. I am heading back tonight or tomorrow. There was some surface activity between the launch and the towers but it was scattered (around 10:00) The surface temp has dropped 4 degrees since saturday.
Fished near the ■■■■ yesterday want to thank Sean for puttin us on the fish.
