Sent an application for a new motor decal back on May 28th.
Called them yesterday to ask about the delay and got a hang up.
Anyone else having similar problems?

I’m in columbia, went to the dnr office and had to wait in line an hour to transfer title to my name for a boat I just bought. I tole the lady at the window I would mail it in next time and she told me they are about 3 weeks behind on mail in applications . . . Good Luck
If you have the time, go to the office. I have had nothing but positive exoperiences in person with the DNR offices for registration and licensing needs.
Absolutely nothing like most goverment offices.
EDIT:
I guess it would depend on where you are. I can see how the Cola office would be busier than most. But the office on James Island has never been crowded when i went in. Might have something with it being stuck on a peninsula on a dead end road!

I always go to the office and have never had an issue. Sure you may have to wait in line for a little bit, but it is instant gratification on licenses, stamps or registration issues.

I second that. I registered a brand new boat in about 10 minutes. Very nice, helpful people there. There were a couple guys in front of me who were also doing similar registration things. They didn’t have the proper forms or paperwork with them. She politely told them what they needed and where they could find it.

Got through this AM.
Lady said they are taking about a month for renewals these days.
Suggested a call back if it is not received next week-pleasant conversation.
Thanks for your responses!

I’ve been going to the DNR for 14 years and I’ve never had a bad experience. They are so much more pleasant than any other government run entity I have dealt with. I think you must have caught someone on a bad day, because they are usually great. I normally go by in person.
Went on line Monday to renew registration. Got stickers yesterday.
I sent papers in for a motor title tranfer and sticker and got it back in about a week.

Dont get me wrong, I wasnt complaining, just stating what happened. The staff were nice and very helpful, I think the hold up was the dumb questions being asked and the guy in front of me that had to tell the attendant his life story then wanted them to look his name up to see what fishing, hunting, jug, net licenses he had and what he needed to renew. But hey, what do you expect when dealing with the public ![]()
