Is it the spelling...or is it the people...

People have been wondering why my spelling is so crappie. Well if you ask me I thought this was a forum I didn’t know my spelling had to be perfect. I thought I could come on this site and learn about fishing not how bad my spelling is.

It’s not the people, it’s your grammar, arrogance and ingratitude towards your father.

People can’t help you if they can’t quite understand what you’re trying to say. Use this forum as practice in communicating with adults with halfway decent grammar and spelling and you’ll elicit more helpful responses.

I think the best advice I can give is to stop making obnoxious posts about your dad, use the search function, read everything from the past few years and THEN ask specific questions about what you want to know.

If you think the people on this forum are harsh, you should turn your computer off and spend more time reading a book or playing outside. This forum is pretty mild compared to other outdoors forums you might stumble across in your pursuit to become a knowledgeable outdoorsman.

This may not be what you wanted to hear but I think it’s what quite a few people are thinking.

I can talk to people and my grammar is good, but I didn’t no it had to be perfect

I wonder what your English teacher thinks.

Very well stated Rap.

Miller, for some reason many on this site love to pick out a person’s misspelled words. I know first hand, my spelling is atrocious. Just have some respect for yourself and take the criticism positively.

It obviously doesn’t have to be perfect. KNOW what I am saying? In your case, it is not so much misspelled words as it is sentences that make no sense. I honestly have had a hard time getting the actual meaning of some of your posts. Rap pretty much summed up other issues.

Amen, Rap.

Miller, if you want people to take you seriously, they must first respect you. Without knowing any of the people from whom you’re seeking advice, you need to make the best impression you can. I’m personally a little anal about grammar in general for the same reason. My words are my only means of communication with most of the people on this site, and what (and when) I post says something about who I am as a person. Your posts don’t have to be perfect, but they should at least make sense.

“I’m not a hundred percent in love with your tone right now…”

I don’t care if people don’t take me serious and I get A’s in english so it’s not my grammar that’s the problem

Everyone welcome to our new kids corner forum. We’ll put it between the sport and politic forum. Millertime2 shall be the moderator.

“I don’t care if people don’t take me serious and I get A’s in english so it’s not my grammar that’s the problem”. This is a quote from someone who wants to make a living as a fishing guide. I don’t care how good you think you can fish that attitude will run you out of business faster than not catching fish. Take the time to represent yourself in a better light and people will be more willing to help you. They will also get off your back on your spelling and grammar short comings.

A wise man once said “Do as I say not as I do” Good advice when I tell you that.

Guys…he’s right…it’s the people. The rest of us know how to use google when spelling is in question.

Once you master the whole google thing…learn how to use the search feature on this website(the big search button on the toolbar, the other one is sketchy). It may not help with your spelling, but it should help with your fishing. I don’t always think before I type, but I try to at least think before hitting enter.

Guys, I’m pretty sure he is a troll and not just some kid. Possibly toppyblue reincarnate…

No I am a kid I’m a 15 year old kid that loves not spelling right so I can get talked crap to about my spelling

I was about to say, I haven’t seen this kind of flareup and nonsense from one person since Toppyblue. That whole episode was really annoying and this one is getting there.

MT2, divert your attention more towards your use of punctuation (or lack thereof) in the context of your posts.

Ryan~

I think you’re like most of your generation, no respect, know it alls that should STFU, listen more and learn how to act. When you’ve figured out that portion of the equation, then you can start to contribute. Learning how to communicate in a proper fashion with others and making coherent posts goes a long way in earning others respect. Arguing with them and coming across as a pompous asshole gains you no favors amongst others.

IE, quit being a dick, shut up and listen more. Especially to your dad, right now you think he’s the dumbest SOB around, by the time you get to your mid 20’s he’ll have become a pretty savvy dude.

Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn’t go so far as to call a dog filthy but they’re definitely dirty. But, a dog’s got personality. Personality goes a long way.

I do listen to my dad haha and I’m well mannered I have not had one person say im not mannered so does that answer your question

Before one feels elated and makes planes he must secure his “fish”

Contrary to your blissful ignorance, several very nice folks on this site have indicated you come across as very poorly mannered. If I am wrong in my interpretation of others posts, let me be the first to tell you, “You have poor manners.”
