Went out today with a “better” outcome. No mud to trudge or broken paddle, downhill from there. Well, started out great through the field of oysters and brought in a 17" red. Shortly after had a bite off a overslot that didn’t get the hook and let go… I did manage a perfect cast for a bunch of mullet while sitting in the kayak which I was proud of. Then the wind started, so much for a 10mph wind. Fought the wind back in and spent a second in the creeks and decided to call it. WELL, on the way in JT and I see a “carcass” floating. Flip it over and appears to have a flatter rib cage… so… called Mt P and 14 police vehicles show up and 5 boats for that little landing including a HUGE air boat. First 2 boats don’t work and finally put in a small boat to paddle back and turns out to be a deer carcass. Who knew people in the ghetto throw old deer bodies at landings… Guess feeding the crabs they will catch later… Was a little embarassing BUT would have thought all day that I left a body in the water AND how often do you see bones like that in the marsh. Oh well, I don’t have to worry about it. Hell of a turnout though. Have pics but not messing with it tonight. Seems I won’t ever have a normal fishing day…
