Is there a such thing as too much bait?

It seems no matter where we go, we’ve been surrounded by bait this year and we’ve been visually seeing the fish. We’ve thrown artificials and cut bait but we haven’t gotten bit that much or at least not as much as one would expect given the fish we’ve been around. So, is there a such thing as too much bait? Is the bait giving our offerings too much competition? Just curious as to what y’all think.

Earn it everyday…

I’ve wondered the same thing. Tons of bait and baitfish in the river where I fish. I would think with so much to choose from, I would have a harder time catching fish with my bait. I’ve done ok despite all the bait around so dont really know if it changes things.

When the creeks are loaded with shrimp and menhaden, artificials and cut bait don’t get much attention. Fish with live shrimp and menhaden.
