Is this a kayak/jon boat launch?

.

technically no, it’s private property but I see people fishing there occcasionally. You would have to drag the kayak too, I don’t believe you can get a vehicle back there.

If you need wando kayak access I suggest either putting in at Paradise Landing up hwy 17 or down at the country park off Longpoint Rd.

Long, long ago that was a popular semi-landing. Lousy parking, but access to the upper Wando. A newer landing was built accross the river…used to charge $2.00 to put in. Now that landing has been repaired, and converted to a membership based landing and covered storage facility. Very reasonable rates, but it ain’t no 2 bucks. I just ponyed up the fee after years of fighting the tide at Paradise, and the yahoos everywhere else. If I was a Yaker, I’d go with Paradise or Copahee Sound Access off of Hwy 17 North up past the Berkley Co-Op office. There is a very nice canoe and kayak launch on Awendaw Creek off of 17North about 10 minutes past the Awendaw water tower. That one will give you access to the ICW…not a bad spot.

I did the haul out of there 1 time when a storm came up… it’s quite a drag up that hill.

Ok thanks people!
