Islamorada late March

Going down end of March, anyone have any experience fishing there that time of the year? I am kinda wondering which gear I should take down, inshore or offshore.

Worse case-I am going to deep drop on some swords or look for the elusive Florida keys wreckfish.

Winds are very heavy in March and blow up some big seas. If you don’t want to be beat to hell, I may stick with inshore.

The wind can be a “B” in March.I pulled my 25’ boat down once for a week and got to fish 1 day. Might wanta wait a couple of weeks!

thanks for the input…

March is kind of our transitional period from sailfish season to dolphin season! There should still be both here, but we spend more of our time fishing for the big jacks on the humps! We use pretty much all spinning tackle down here if that helps ya! It gets rough but it can get rough anywhere you go, we all know that! Feel free to swing by holiday isle/postcard inn and say hello while y’all are down this way! Good luck and let me know if there’s anything we can do for you! Thanks, Tommy
