The Sailfishing has really turned on here in the past week or 10 days. This is my favorite time of the year because when the fish first show up they are hungry and aggressive. Also early in the season like this we get alot of sails showering ballyhoos inside the reef in 15-10 feet of water, with it being still early and the water still a little warmer lots of gaffer dolphin will be mixed in with the sails showering baits , as well as mackerals, jack crevales, cudas, and mutton snappers. Just this week i was chasing a sail down in about 15 feet and my mate put a good cast on him and just as he was about to eat, a 15 pound cow dolphing jumped right in front of the sail , ate the hoo and we caught her, …not that i mind catching mahi, and the customer was thrilled, its just the highest number of flags wins back at the dock,. Anyway the Sails are really showing up down here, still a few mahis and tunas around, some mackerals, and the bottom fishing will get bet better and better as the water temp drops.
