Headed out to Islamorada FL with the crew Saturday morning to fish 2 days with our favorite Capt Nick Stanczyk on the B 'N M. Hated to leave Charleston when the fish are biting and the weather looked crappy in the keys. We slept through what sounded like a hurricane all night only to find our two days fishing were to be cancelled by tropical storm “oh crap”. So we drove right back 11 hours to get the boat ready to fish Charleston on Monday 4/30.
Beautiful day on the ocean ran out at 40 MPH and fished the ledge straight out lines in at 8 AM. Nothing, spot was dead so we pulled up and ran South to North end of Edisto banks and hooked a decent Bull and cow right off the spot. Worked our way south on the ledge and nothing again. Picked up one more phin and started trolling toward home. Hooked up with a screaming Wahoo and lost him when he made a U turn for the boat. Saw 45 MPH on the way home. 72 degrees all day scattered weeds 150-210 ft of water.
