Islamorada

Going on a family vacation to Islamorada week after next. Would like some suggestions on a charter. Will be four of us. We have never been there. Bottom fishing would probably be the best bet. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

check in with MR. KING on here. He’s in the charter game in Islamorada

I am going to Marathon in Aug. & asked suggestions on here about charters. I contacted some I looked up on google & also recommendatons from here with no responses. 10 or so total I guess & nothing except this guy that was recommended from here (he is also from Charleston area originally). I have booked with him. I did a search for reviews on him & found 45 reviews & all 45 gave him 5 stars…

I go down every year and though the fishing has been good, I haven’t found a guide I’d definitely repoeat. I’ve fished Lower Keys and Middle Keys. I read some articles on Capt James Chappell. Had a write up in the local FL Coastal Angler. Very good things. I spoke with him and seemed like a good guy, but that doesn’t speak on caliber of skills. Was probably going to go with him but decided to ask on here for first hand referrals. I didn’t reference him or anyone, just asking for personal experiences. Someone here had fished with him and recomended him highly. So I booked him for when I go in May. He is docked behind/near The Worlwide Sportsman Center. Here is his link. http://www.catchalottafish.com/ Again, I have yet to fish with him but everything I have heard from people and read he is excellent.

We fished Sunday with Captain Raymond on Gold digger. We ended up with 21 dolphin. We tried sails but they are farther down towards key west. We found a pallet with at least 20 triple tails. We hooked up with at least 6 and every one spit hooks at the boat. Biggest dolphin 25 lbs. This is a beautiful place.
