I would like to kayak out to an island and camp overnight and go fishing during the day. Any suggestions?
Capers or bull island. I think you have to get permission first. Just keep an eye on your stuff at all times…don’t leave any rods, tackle, or other gear out of sight.i had some gear stolen at capers around three weeks ago. i am planning a camping trip out to bulls island this fall when the bull redfish are in the bay full force.

Unless something has changed that I’m not aware of, camping on Bull’s is not permitted. It’s part of Cape Romain NWR and camping is not allowed anywhere in the refuge.

Thank you. I was unaware of this. I will have to look into other areas to camp out at close to bulls bay.

Personally I would set up along the Oceanside just out from the large trees there. There a lot of fallen trees and large drift wood structures on that side called the “boneyard” which holds fish. You can also access areas like Copahee pretty easily and if you are willing to paddle, flats over by the Santee pass, gray bay, and multiple creeks along the ICW
