I am casually on the hunt for a 21-24’ Carolina skiff DLX or DLV hull. A good trailer and late model engine is a plus but not essential.
I am looking for a bare bones work boat I can build out the way I want.

Do it.
I don’t like the necessity of needing a mate. The Capt is hidden behind the house while all the passengers are up front so they lose that interaction.
The registration (see one of the pics in link) expired sometime in 2025. That leads me to believe that he/she/they/it are not wanting to put anything else into it $$$wise and thus it being January and cold as a well diggers arse I might jig a $15K offer at them, and if no bite, maybe jig it again at $16K.
or not…
That big power pole is nice on that sled, although I might want 2, according to what you are wanting to do, but thats just me.
The 238 is a good hull but I think I want to 21 or 24 DLX with the flat bottom for a more work boat style rig. I rebuilt the bow entry of a 238 earlier this wi tee that has been beached a few hundred times and I think the flat bottom is better for my use of mustering, running traps for crabs and is easier to repair when it gets all scraped up.
now I see, I didn’t understand it’s future life.
crabbin’ is hard work it would appear
do you know about the Tempest search site? It’s where all the cool kids find “stuff” these days.
I see a few laid up up around Harkers, like PN, I’ll keep an eye out…
In the meantime I’d recommend calling Shane at 770-888-2628. He runs the biggest marine salvage deal-e-o I’ve ever seen. Its outside Dawsonville Georgia, but I feel certain he can put you on the path.
Heres a google earth shot of his “stuff”.
so anyway, you wanna get on plane with very little pain, call Shane.
again, advice on the www is worth about what you pay for it, so theres that. Cobbling up old boats is harder work than crabbin’, lol
this is a cool click on Lanier Salvage and Shanes “stuff”
best of luck
I got this today after asking around about a no frills work skiff last week
Maybe shoot him a text? Let me know
