BECAUSE THEY DIDN’T WANT IT!! The fishing was much tougher today than yesterday. I am not sure what happened but the best I can tell most of the important factors remained pretty much the same. The water is still warming up but I cannot imagine that hurt things yet. The water temps today were between 72 and 74 degrees! I can not believe how fast it is climbing. I tried just about every bait and color i brought with me today and had very little success compared to my last few trips. I ended the day with 6 trout (up to 21.5"),2 reds (up to 24"), and another dink flounder.
Well Justin, I know it doesn’t help you at all but, when I see an accomplished fisherman such as yourself struggle, it helps put things into perspective on those days I get the big 0. Thanks for sharing.

Sort of…I had something pick it up and start pulling drag. I opened the bail and let it free line for about thirty seconds and then came tight again. It was still there when I did but after 4 or 5 seconds it came off. When I reeled it in it never bit it near the hook and nearly peeled the skin off behind the gills.
I doubt it. It was a live and fresh 6 inch nose hooked mullet. I was drifting it behind me while working my way down the banks. I suspect that it was a red because it ran towards the bank. I probably just needed to give it more time to eat it.
