Iztapa, Guatemala- Great start to the season

Ending October with a fly fishing group and then a day charter back on the bait in which we loaded up on yellow fin.
Top day on the fly last week:
42 Raises 16 Bites 10 Releases Sailfish on the fly- Lazy fish but we had many looks, the bait guys did much better off the riggers.
2-1-0 Blue marlin on the fly. Had him on for about 4 jumps (maybe 250lbs) and then out came the fly, very aggressive fish on the take.
2-1-1 Mahi on the fly.

Yesterday report as we focused on yellow fin 35 miles straight out.
12-9-7 Sailfish Bait
1-0-0 Blue Marlin
2-2-2 Mahi
10-9-8 Yellow fin. Solid 40 lbers and (1) 100 lb yellow on the 30 lb rig. Kicked our butt. Grabbed the sailfish rig and worked us for an hour but we got him!!
Tuesday the Sails Call and Capt Starrs head to El Salvador for the yearly tourney to see how we stack up.
