Woke up at 3 am just knowing that I was going to have to cancle my charter. Looked at the bouy and to my surprise the wind was 7 kts gusting to 9. Called up the crew and told them we were on. Eased out to the GT hole and had our first BFT in less then 10 mins. The ride out was very nice too I might add. The wind didnt start blowing until around 11. Picked at the tunas throughout the morning and even worked a triple header into the mix. The dolphins were chewing too. Not any real good bites of dolphin but all day long they add up. Water was 72 with a rip/break that went to 74ish. Didnt mark much if any bait or fish all day. Trolled south all day and got about 3 miles below SW banks before we picked up to run in. The ride in was the worst part. We were able to cruise 23kts comfortably, but it was a litle wet. The grand totalis for the day was 8 BFT, 16 Maui wowies, 1 King smackerel(released), and 3 wahoos. Fine day of fishing with an all star crew. The day would have been perfect if only the infamous William Cheves of Greenville could’ve made it. This was him on a previous trip. Going to get back it at it after the wind stops blowing and we get done with teh Edisto tourny.

Great job Ben. We cancelled because we thaught the weather would be questionable. Glad you got to go and have a great catch. Keep up the great work.

Yeah, I was just trying to decide if he got in there for the picture or that’s how they found him that morning.
