Jack Plate

What exactly are the pros of installing a jack plate. I know alot of bass boats have them. I’m trying to get a few more mph on the top end.

Is your sea pro a sv or a deep v? On performance hulls like a bass boat a jack plate is real good. A jack plate will do more on a shallower “v’d” hull. I am not sure by any means but i would think you could get probably 3 mph more on a 20 ft bay boat. Probably a little less on a deep v. Also, it will set your engine back a little more on the boat and it will put it in “better water”. also if you are fishing shallow water a jack plate is a good idea. If you do decide to get one i would go with a bob’s. Also you may be able to change props to gain a little speed. Good luck.

2x on Bob’s Machine Shop jack plates and go with hydraulic.
