Do anyone have experience with a jack plate on a jon boat. I have a 1542 War Eagle with a 25 yam. 2 stroke tiller and i’m wanting to put a manual jack plate on it. Any thoughts?

I’ve got a 1648 war eagle and I’m wondering the same thing. Got a 20hp on now and wanting to move up to a 40hp. Hard as hell to get a good short shaft(15") set-up on the short transom transom.
My options were to build up transom to 20" or go with jack plate to go up 5". My worry was putting a heavy 40hp four stroke set back the additional 5" on a short transom.
