James Island question

OK Guys?.
I posted a question earlier about a property we were going to buy on Penny Creek and you all helped out with suggestions about navigating that creek. Well, that purchase fell through! So, we are now contemplating the purchase of a house on Old Military Rd. THe house has a dock and a boat lift and is on a creek. I know nothing about James Island waterways?..SOOOO,?Can anyone tell me about the waterway on which this house sits? It looks like, from Google maps, that it meanders along past Seaside Plantation, but eventually dumps into Clark Sound. Is this area navigable for a 17ft CC.? And how would I put our boat in/out of the water for maintenance etc.? Would I have to use Folly landing? IF so, is it easy to get to that landing? It looks pretty convoluted to get there. Any help would be very much appreciated!!!
Thanks.

Tom

Sea tonic I live in fort lamar and can tell you that creek is dry for a good part at low tide. So unless your boat has wheels you will only get in and out at high tide.

A wise man once said “Do as I say not as I do” Good advice when I tell you that.

Lots of fish in that creek see bonzos post!.. But I’ve waded it a good ways and its shallow, less than knee deep for as long as I’ve walked it… I have seen larger boats at docks in the creek though. I presume you’re talking about Seaside creek, a kayak would be awesome. The places I fish at Low tide aren’t ever dry

Great for kayaks always and your boat on the top half of the tide. Not hard to get to folly landing, just need to be shown the way. Great fishing in that area.

ST,
I also live in Ft. Lamar area, and I believe oops is right. I have a buddy that lives around the lake that picks his family up from that creek in a 21’ dusky (at high tide). Also, the neighborhood association (Secessionville acres civic club) has a small (very small) private ramp at the end of Tower Battery on Battallion you can use for $15/year. Again, dry at low tide.

I live in Seaside Plantations and can get from the neighborhood boat ramp to the Clark Sound typically 2 hours either side of low tide in my 16’ center console…but it can be a little tricky…anything on the “inland” side of the boat ramp can be a LOT more tricky…a house on Old Military that has a dock must be WAY up the creek…
and despite yakman’s best intentions, there are absolutely no fish in Seaside Creek…matter of fact we have a negative number of fish in there…

I’ve fished in many of those “fish free” zones.
