James R Metts landing... now ? landing...

James R Metts landing… now ? landing… maybe “Wounded Warrior Landing” - finally give it some real memorial

Maybe if WWP wasn’t so anti-gun and anti-religion, I’d be on board with that.

I worked for a company that was in the firearms industry and we were looking to hold a fundraiser. We contacted WWP about getting them on board and we were told since we dealt with firearms and firearms are “the reason these heros are tramatized and wounded in the first place,” they would not lend their name to the event. They would, however, accept a donation from our proposed fundraiser.

Second, my church held a fundraiser and it went better than expected. We had a goal in mind and exceeded it by a considerable amount. Several board members were veterans so they decided to make a donation to WWP. When contacted, WWP informed the board members of my church that they don’t accept donations from religious organizations.

Since then, I won’t have anything to do with them. This was several years ago and maybe they changed their ways since then but that just didn’t sit well with me and rings loud in my ear to this day. I understand the work they do (more than most will ever know) but given the false pretence they operate under, I came to find other, more genuine, organzations out there to work with. SpecOps warrior foundation, Gary Sinise Foundation, Semper Fi fund, Lead the Way Fund… the list goes on.

WW is not the same as WWP… very interesting ■■■■■■■■ though

Very true. Sorry for jumping to conclusions.

It does need a name change, sooner than later.
