If I were bringing bait I would be looking for blue crabs. Killer this time of year! Mud minnows and finger mullet will also be very effective this time of year. This is also one of the few times of the year, if you are not comfortable with other forms of bait, shrimp are a good option. All of the other fish that would normally be trying to steal it off the hook aren’t going to be a problem because of the colder temperatures. I would also be throwing jerk baits like the Zman Streak Z.
