I can probably make it Sunday. 50/50 on Saturday. Personally, I’m not interested in fishing freshwater. I’d like to see some of the new guys choose the location.

Where’s the new folks?
It looks like my roommate and I may be able to make it this time if it’s on Saturday. Ideas would be Bulls Bay, Copahee, Sullivans or the usual Paradise. I agree on keeping it salt water. Would LOVE to try to find some schools of reds as they’ve been elusive (in schools, seem to catch a random one here and there in the Wando).
would love to try and make this one.never been to one yet i love the salt water cause my love for my reds
For me I enjoy fishing whether it is freshwater or saltwater. To go out and search for some schools of redfish at a meet & fish is like a herd of kayakers searching for a single school of reds and then attempting to all throw there lines at them.
I would like to think that we can provide some of the meet & fish events to both worlds. At one time we did have a group of freshwater anglers but appears that we have scared them off. If I recall we only did 1 or 2 freshwater trips in 2013. I feel that we all could raise our skill levels by expanding out angling interest to both worlds.
Just saying…
I’m a fan of both also, and anxious to get out and do more of both
fresh and salt water fishing. Wanted to try and get a float trip together,
on the Santee, or maybe even the Broad River…heard tales of good smallmouth
fishing up there, and I sure miss fishing for them.
I agree, it’s a good idea to explore other waters. I purchased my Native Ultimate 12 to fish in Ohio… and I have pulled many shovelhead catfish up to 30# in it. When I moved down here I quickly replaced most of my tackle from freshwater to saltwater gear. I have fished a lot in Ohio, Wisconsin and Michigan and although it’s fun, nothing compares to the fight of a redfish, or shark even for that matter. Combined with never having much luck during the cold weather months up north - in which a deep depression sets in from mid Oct-late April/May. Fishing is just so slow or non existent and miserable you quickly give up during those months. I have found fishing in the Wando and ICW, that catching fish in the winter months in saltwater is exciting and a much better prospect than wasting my time in freshwater. I’d be down to meet wherever, but being located in Mt Pleasant, it’s very hard to pull me away from the salt.
DDOLson, I was perhaps hoping for someone to point out what creeks would be more ideal to find schooling reds (i.e. I have found the skinny creeks that narrow into grass are too murky to see anything and almost impossible to fish in…).No doubt I can only imagine a group of kayaks chasing down a school of reds… although it’d likely be humorous to observe this from afar.
I’d like to meet up on the salt, Sundays are my days on the water. Having a few yakers hit a school of reds can actually be very effective - just sayin.
I agree I love smallmouth fishing. These fish are great fighters even in cold water.
Saturday is looking like a rainy day. Sunday would be the better weather day, but fishing the day after a front passes through can be hit-or-miss.
I’m hearing that the forcast might be chances of rain for the next five days.
Here is the NOAA Forcast for Saturday.
Saturday A chance of showers, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 1pm. Cloudy, with a high near 72. South wind 13 to 16 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
Saturday Night Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 54. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
If two wrongs don’t make a right, try three.
I second the idea for more freshwater events. We are fortunate enough to live in an area that has some amazing and beautiful areas in both fresh and salt. It would be just wrong not to explore them both.
Who wants to fish on Sunday? Sunny - mid 60’s with a 6-10 mph west wind…doesn’t get much better than that.
Have we picked a place to fish yet?
If two wrongs don’t make a right, try three.
What is the final on this weekends Meet + Greet??
Would like to fish this weekend
Capt Dave
Still working on it Capt. Dave - Sunday is looking like a great day. I’m thinking about Limehouse Landing. Any thoughts?
I’ll be camping at Table Rock and am oh so excited.

I fished Limehouse a few weeks ago. Only caught one big trout. But the conditions weren’t the best and it was my first time fishing that area. It looked fishy though.
