just curious, never tried for spades before, so I ask, can anyone direct me to a general area where they have been finding jelly balls recently? Its a big area, and would like to spend a little time fishing, LOL, rather than hunting. Thanks for any direction you can help me with.
Inlet mouths are usually a good place. Up and down the beach.
We have always had good luck with small pieces of shrimp.

Peeled shrimp.
What size hooks or rigs is best?
Take a container of bait shrimp just in case, but if you slow down and ease out of any of the inlets, you should find plenty of Jelly balls. It’s hard to spot the jelly balls when you’re up on plane, or at least it is for me.
As far as hook size, we use small 4X treble hooks when we can find them. Not really sure about the exact size, but small. These fish have really small mouths.

Trigger fish are some of my favorite fish. Sheepshead rank pretty high too. Wahoo is one of my favorites but my wife’s not crazy about Wahoo.
