The national weather service issued a beach hazard off our coast because of jellyfish. it seems the heat has push the jellys up from florida. do yall think this has any affect on near shore fishing?
None. Although I do hate it when they slime up my fishing lines, planers, and especially cast nets. Stings my mouth. Jellyfish come every year.

We were in Myrtle Beach this weekend and they were everywhere. My wife and both daughters were in the water briefly and all three were stung. They were small and it wasn’t bad though.

The reefs seem to come alive when the Jelly is thick. It draws the fish to the surface.
I had a little sting yesterday in the jetties…as Long Enuff mentioned they were not that painful…

catch one in a cast net while shrimping, hard to clean that stinging slime out of a net and it seems to sting everything it touches
Was on the Alabama coast this week, they are thick in the Gulf! Trouble in the cast net!
