it has been more than 15 years, but LEG3, Bonzo and Less Govt finally got offshore together on Less Govt’s new to him 22 Edgewater express, the Jenny Lee…also had the pleasant company of David, “the Brit”…put in at the 41 bridge Sat at 4:AM and after some starts, restarts and triple restarts we arrived at the SW Banks a few hours later than we hoped…first line in and 30 seconds later LEG3 is on a nice 15lb gaffer…I stick in the bloodiest spot possible and within 5 minutes of lines in we are already cleaning the deck…game on…mess around for a few more hours picking at the smaller dolphin…the Brit’s turn for a fish and he manages a great fight, lasting almost 10 minutes…after much ribbing and a nap or two the fish comes alongside, LEG3 with gaff in hand…wahoo…must have been close to 5 foot long and was lit up beautifully…2 shakes of the head and a split second before LEG3 sank the cold steel in his side and he breaks off…cut through the mono leadered rig…dammit boy, we all just look at each other for a few minutes, commenting on what could have been and deciding none of us had see a wahoo that big outside of the intrawebnet…dodged the rain showers for a while then went to bottom fishing…drift fished over a few spots and put 6 or 8 of the largest BSB I had ever seen in the boat…some approaching 18"…rode back in with the seas, comfy ride, but not enough to keep from losing a rod in the stern starboard gunnel holder, forgot to bungee her in, lesson learned…
there are a few pics and some video out there and will work to get something up soon…great trip with a great crew…we learned so much about what the boat can do and what we can do to make next trip even better…thanks Patrick for a great time!
I was the limey on board.
Had a great trip, lots of fish, great company and a cold beer never tasted as good as it did after trying to haul in the wahoo.
cheers
Great company, caught fish and learned a lot. Just wish my brand new Stratic rig didn’t go flying. Made it a VERY costly trip. Still had a blast. Ready to do it again.

Patrick, you just need to put a few new albums on the playlist and fishing could have been better. From what I’ve learned the best are ACDC, Metallica, Guns n Roses, Alice n Chains, Sound Garden, Zepplin, Janes Addiction and even some Gibb. Btw, those are in no particular order, or Zepplin would be first. Thanks

Sorry about the loss of a rod & reel - never heard of that happening before. How deep dem holders?
With rates so low, now may be the perfect time to refinance or purchase your dream home. If you are thinking about home financing give me a ring!</font id=“blue”>

Hey LSK, just saw you at Finz last night listening to Hank.
The holders are plenty deep, we just hit a wave wrong and that light set up bounced out of the back corner holder. I usually strap them in, but for some reason forgot. That won’t happen again.
