Jet Dock on the Harbor?

My parents are building a dock at their house in the Old Village of Mt. Pleasant  and I’m wondering is including a Jet Dock for my boat would be a good option. My parents will be keeping their 19ft SeaPro in the boat lift and I have a Cobia Caribbean 174sf. So my two questions are…

  1. Do you think my boat it too big for a jet dock? I’ve seen others that keep their 16ft Scouts or Carolina Skiffs on them, granted, those have flatter hulls.
  2. Would it be stupid to keep it out there even if it would fit? The Harbor can get pretty rough and there isnt a lot of protection for the waterfront docks between Shem Creek and Sullivans. I would hate to constantly be worrying about it.

The dock builders said it would be fine, but what do they really know anyways? I dont think there are any others out there so that makes me second guess whether it is a good idea… Opinions?

My buddies house is the 2nd dock down from the pitt st bridge, his 15ft scout has been on the jet dock for 2 years with no problems. Put it out there and don’t worry about it.
