Took a solo trip to the jetties with some fiddlers. 3 black drum, 1 red, around 20 sheeps (8 keepers),and countless bsb. Running the trolling motor + wind + waves + netting fish = never a dull moment.

Looks like a good day of fishing with a lot of action. When you catch black drum out there are you fishing a different way, or just get them as bycatch while fishing for sheeps? I’ve only ever caught a handful of black drum, about the size of the one in your pic, but would like to target them sometime and try for a bigger one.

Just snagged them while going for the sheeps. I have better luck with black drum around docks with shrimp. I am going to take some blue crab out to some of the near shore reefs next time I go and try my luck at a big boy. Haven’t ever tried it before but everyone recommends it.

what tide do you like for sheeps @ the jetty?
Nice mess of fish, looked like a fun day even alone.
