Four of us made a trip out to the jetties in the kayaks yesterday…
38" redfish - my best to date! Caught on cut bait. I got a sleigh-ride out of this one…
Also caught a 21" and a 15" red, along with a ton of BSB…
After the cut bait was gone, I switched to fishing for sheeps and caught a few of these for the cooler:
Lost a number of sheeps too…also caught some weakfish, but they were all just under-size. Got to see some spanish mackerel jumping on bait nearby but I didn’t have anything to throw at them. The big high-tide had the water over the rocks early, but on the falling tide the fishing really picked up. There were four of us out there, and everyone was catching fish…it was a great day!
I bet that red was a blast! My best in a yak is only 31" and it was fun. Yours had some real pulling power. Looks like you guys have mastered the jetties.

The red was awesome, but I was really excited to finally get into some decent sheepshead - they have been my obsession this year! Persistence pays off!
