jetties and near shore

When I purchased my depthfinder I passed on the GPS option thinking that a flats boat will never need one of those. Wrong, headed to the near shore reef today to try my luck. Looking for a yellow bouy that marks some reef, well I couldent find it so pulled out the I phone 1.99 later we have a gps 2min after that every public reef in the gps. Went through 2 pints of fiddlers caught 40+ black sea bass 4 sheep head 1 black drum 25 inches- which I was very excited about because I have never caught/seen one. Saw plenty of sheeps on the rocks they just werent having it. Flat calm on the water beautiful sunrise.

Check the ‘Navionics’ app. Very good little chart plotter. About $10. Well worth it.

GPS should never be relied on completely to navigate (especially in Bulls Bay) but, it sure does come in handy.

Which reef did you go to? Guess it doesn’t matter, they’re all swarming with BSB. Brother in law coming to town next week, looking to eat some sheepies…if they get the bait first.
