We were out there last week trying to catch sheephead with fiddlers, ended up catching a few toadfish, a small trout, 2 large ladyfish and a really big pompano. So…you never know what you’ll get.

tip #1 is use the search function to read many of the topics on anchoring and fishing the jetties- tons of information already here.
there is some of everything at the jetties, you can pitch artificials and catch flounder or trout, drag spoons for spanish, catch big sharks and reds with cut/live bait on the bottom, sheeps on the rocks, bluefish, ladyfish, whiting, dogfish, guitarfish, octopus, sea urchin… speaking from experience of course.

how big, claim? shrimp at the base of the rocks?
I was using a #2 circle hook on a double chicken rig with a 1oz bank sinker tossing close to/at the bottom of the rocks. We were “close” to the dynamite hole. Pompano was very delicious.
