Jetties this weekend - tackle recommendations?

PS. I searched the forum for an hour before posting this. Couldn’t quite find what I was looking for, but got tips on anchoring, tides, etc.

I plan to fish the jetties this weekend. I’m in a 22CC. I have done it twice now without any real knowledge so maybe somebody can help on tackle - hook and weight sizes.

I plan to set out to midsize reels off the bottom to pickup what is cruising by - I need proper rigs for this.

I also plan to cast to the rocks and use either a popping cork or jighead off the bottom. Might try some top water with like a Badonkadonk or something. Just something to do while the bigger rods are sitting.

Any other recommendations? Not targeting anything in particular, just want to catch fish as I don’t get down there alot - even bigger sharks are good!

Any single or double drop rig with either a 3-5 circle hook should work perfect, make sure you use a bank or flat round sinker to minimize your chances of getting hung in the rocks if bottom fishing that area. If you’re going to float a bait across the top of the rocks, be ready to pull it fast because those sea bass are fast and will pull you right into the structure. As for fishing back out towards the channel, I’ve had good results using a drum rig so the weight sits on the bottom and your bait can freely float around about 2-3 feet off the bottom. I’ve picked up reds and plenty of sharks using this method and if you use a double drop rig in the same area, you may pick up some whiting as well. Mullet, squid, and menhaden are baits of choice. Good luck.

The rocks: 2 split shots, or a bullet weight then a uni kmot to a foot of 20# leader to a 1/0 mosquito hook. Baited witg shrimp or fiddlers. Id also have somebody tossing a cork with 1-3’ of leader with a 1/0 kahle hook with baitfish. Bring plenty of bait and tackle
