Have some out of state family that want to fish the jetties and like to fight with the sharks. I am still green at fishing the jetties. Would tomorrow be a good day? Waves high? To hot? Just Shrimp and cut herring on the bottom?
Any advice is welcome. Thanks!

Sharks are definitely plentiful. As far as weather/waves, just check out the local forecast. Typically if you fish the inside of the jetties it’s much calmer. Many different baits will work, but shrimp wouldn’t be at the top of my list. Try to use an oily fish with a good bit of blood. Plenty of menhaden can be caught in the harbor on the way out. Just look for pelicans diving. If you don’t want to throw a net, you could use herring or cut mullet. I prefer fresh bait personally but sharks tend to eat a lot of different cut fish.
