Headed to the jetties Saturday around 10am using mud minnows. Bite was slow as tide was coming close to full high. Hooked in to several large black sea bass. Bluefish started running through. Then had a nice flounder, 18" take a minnow. Tide change moved to opposite side and MORE sea bass. Hooked into a decent red, 24". More trash fish. Decided to head up the Wando when tide dropped to catch bait and fish docks/oysters. Got a lot of good bait in the creeks, decent size shrimp and finger mullet. Hit a couple regular docks, hooked into quite a few fish. Reds and black drum. Caught another 7 or 8 reds before time to head in. Best day on the water this year. All in all, caught 11 different species: Reds, black drum, black sea bass, trout, flounder, bluefish, sea urchin, skate, stingray, sharpnose shark, and some weird cichlid fish(never seen one and regretfully didn’t take a pic).

We caught an urchin a few weeks ago too. Odd catch on a rod and reel.

Yeah I agree, very odd catch. What were you using for bait?
