Anybody checked the water temp at the jetties this week? Wanting to come down to catch some convicts.

A week ago water temp was between 55 and 57 along the jetties, air temp was in the 30’s. Probably a little warmer now.
good gauge to bookmark, reliable for harbor temp except for low tide spikes
I’ve only caught sheepshead next to docks/pilings fishing straight down off the side of the boat.
How do ya’ll catch them at the jetties? Do you anchor over the submerged portion or get crazy close to the rocks and fish down?
Crazy close to the rocks and fish down. Usuall12-15 ft deep

I’m headed out this weekend, trying to push past the jetties but will take note of temp round there.

Love fishing sheepies on the jetties. I use my trolling anchor feature to keep me close to the jetties. I throw some rods on the back of the boat for monster reds, while fishing the front of the boat for sheep! Great time, every time!

Fished the jetties this past Saturday morning (4/1) for a few hours with fiddlers. Bite was slow, and extremely light…even more so than usual with sheeps. Fish were also deeper than during the summer/fall months. Ended up landing 4, one being about 5.5 lbs, the rest smaller.
Thanks for the responses. With any luck I will be driving down from the upstate next weekend to give it my first try this year.
