May head out to the jettis tomorrow, haven’t been since last summer. How’s it been out there lately? North or south jetti producing better than the other? I know shrimp and mud minnows have been inconsistent inshore so may bring some mullet for the trip as well. Reply if you’ve been out there in May and let me know your experience!
Really? 138 who havent been to the jetties?
Was out last week - my first trip to the jetties.
3 Sharks 3-4’ on cut mullet
A few Lady Fish on Gulp/jig heads
BSB on the same - could have caught a bucket full
Toadfish
Some Rays.
Had fresh crab out, frozen shrim under a cork, cut mullet and 3 guys jigging a variety of plastics.
Incoming tide, inside of south jetty, multiple locations.
Good report, seeing as you’re new to the forum you’ll quickly realize how few people give that much info on here.
I went out Friday and fished the north side of the north jetty. Caught a ton of BSB on mud minnows, dead shrimp, and cut mullet/ 2 19" slot reds and my first bull red at 28". Reds caught on dead shrimp/mullet on carolina rig. 2 of the BSB’s were over 13" surprisingly. a toadfish somewhere in the mix. and saw a sea turtle. fished 2 hours on both sides of low tide.

Ive been on fishing boards for 12 years, and the end of the end is when people stop posting basic fishing reports. Reports are what these sites are about. Not exact location reports about a specific creek or hole, just general info about areas…
If we cant do that., well…

</font id=“quote”></blockquote id=“quote”>exactly Jughed, I joined CF a few years ago and it was a great fishing resource, as of now its more of a bragging pedestal than an info forum. Wish it would go back!
Yes, sad but true.
Many fine posters have stopped reporting here over the last few years.
Too much bragging, castigating, etc.

Inshore fishing isn’t the same as offshore when it comes to information. Yall want to complain about the lack of reports and info shared about inshore fishing but I can tell you that MANY inshore fishing areas have been ruined by this site. People share information and the next thing you know there are 3 more boats fishing the area, then they tell some friends and they are 8 new boats fishing an area and then they tell some friends and its 15 boats now. I’m all for sharing basic information with people but don’t chastise this site for a lack of informative posts.
And for what it’s worth the jetties fishing has been fairly solid the past couple of weeks. Using cut menhaden has worked the best for me and is producing some nice sized reds in the 20+ pound range. The trout are cruising the rocks as well. Current will be ripping out there for a few more days during the tide change which can make it tough to fish though.

you shoulda seen the drive-to flood flats saturday & sunday. they were covered up.
on a brighter note…
i shot some footage, but haven’t looked at it yet.
one guy with a $800 fly rig and all the right clothes was whipping the water into a froth throwing at horse mullet. one time, he shot it out there nearly 15’. I probably enjoyed that as much as the tailers.
it was great.

True true i understand the crowded spot phenomenon that the internet can be credited for, but basic information isnt going to ruin anything. Info such as body of water, tide, weather conditions,rigs/bait,techniques, things that aren’t bringing success, etc etc… you know, a basic fishing report. That’s all I’m complaining about…
generally speaking how much weight are you guys needing to keep it put on the bottom?

“it”? a 10lb danforth
fishing in the rocks, big split shot will usually do it.
fishing big bait on the sand, a couple ounces of pyramid depending on current. 1oz egg was enough for BSB, ladyfish, bluefish, oyster toads, and sharpnose sunday.
