JI Thursday night

nWind was blowing much harder out of south then predicted went to JI shore to be in the lee of the wind, inside from JIYC. 2 ft of water At low tide, shrimp were popping 20 min before dark. They were everywhere but almost all small. We had literally 1/2 cooler in 2 runs before it was even dark. We made a few more runs and threw out most of shrimp , kept a few dozen mediums and occasional large out of laundry bacsket 1/4 full of small shrimp. left w/ about 3/4 cooler with still many shrimp on the poles. Just didn’t want to head any more of those babies. Still a fun night and amazing some nets with mnany dozen shrimp per cast. Just don’t understand the difference in size from one side of the harbour to the other.
Friend was at CB where we did fairly well on Monday night and they got skunked,
Would love to hear any reports frOm GB or patriots PT

yea, after you head some of the bigger shrimp it sucks to have to head the salad shrimp…at least you got out and had some luck…

Sounds like a fun trip but I would hate to head all of those peanuts.

It was fun night, took a friend from our fishing club who had only been out once and his son-in law, 1st time out, they are now hooked. It is So fun to cast into 2 feet of water and just see all those shrimps popping in the net and the eye shining in the headlamp as you pull the net in. These shrimps will make good shrimp and grits or gumbo or creole.

Anyone at CB last few nights??
