That’s a lot of information to take in. I don’t recall reading such a detailed article. I’ll be studying this one. I thought I had enough rods and reels. apparently not!:smiley:

Matt worked super hard on this and sent tons of emails to pin stuff down. If this style of fishing is something you want to try, he pretty much gives it all away.

They did screw up the rigging a bit but that wasn’t his fault. I have posted both rigging methods i use on my JigSkinz YouTube page.

The only thing i would add is that this can be done on the 30 fathom curve from Hatteras to Key West. Likely, you’ll have better action off the charts and away from the fleet. If you see boats, move. Find your own fish where no one can see. Bent rods are like magnets to other boats.

I watched your utube tutorieal on rigging twisted leaders etc. very nice. you don’t explain the purpose of the twisted leader though. I assume it’s a shock absorber I ended up taking about 100yds of braid off of muy big tuna reels and replacing it with mono for shock/stretch.
